Gerrit stammt aus der Anpaarung des meistgenutzten und bestgekörten Zuchthengstes Gunslingers Velvet Vegas im Sezialzuchtverband für Missouri Foxtrotter in Europa und einer Jester`s Charming Legend Stute. Jester`s Charming Legend ist ein Top Hengst aus den USA, der etliche Weltmeister, Reserve Weltmeister und Champions gezeugt hat.

Gerrit verfügt über sehr raumgreifende Gänge und einem ausgeprägten Rhythmus/Takt. Seine rassespezifischen Gänge Foxtrott und Flat Foot Walk zeigt er regelmäßig auf der Weide (Naturfoxtrotter).
