I know Gypsy Vanners are one of the coolest horses in the indusrty and I can assure you that once you meet Hagrid, you’ll be glad this coal black blue eyed gentleman crossed your path!
Meet RFM Gypsy Magics Penn Dragon. better known as Hagrid around our barn. He is a REGISTERED GYPSY gelding that is just 6 years old and their isn’t ANYTHING that he can’t do. I am very confident in saying that! Hagrid is one of kindest, most honest, athletic horses that has ever been in our lives. My son who is 9 months old took some of his first assisted rides on him. I have told everyone that if my little boy was already 5-6 years old that Hagrid would not be up for sale. With our work schedules, upcoming barrel races and hay season, we feel that it’s best he goes somewhere that can fully enjoy and cherish Hagrid for what he is. Hagrid has a beautiful walk trot canter, easily transitioning between each. He is broke very well. As you can see in the video, he will one step lope! He’s the kind that your kids could barrel race Friday night, mom could go to her English show on Saturday and Dad use on the ranch or trail ride on Sunday! He is very versatile, smart and easy to ride. He has that magical ON/OFF switch where you can turn him on and go around a barrel pattern or catch a calf then turn him right back off and let the kids ride him all within a minute. We have extensively trail ridden, gathered/checked cows, hauled to fun shows, youth ridden at barrel races, pushed cattle at the roping pen, the list goes on and on. He is a cross anything, go anywhere, do anything type of horse. Steep hills, rough terrain, cattle, indoor/outdoor arena settings, roping pens, the hustle of horse shows, water, dogs, kids running in and out, baby stollers, balloons nothing bothers this guy!!! We believe he would excel in gymkhana events or an English program as well. He would be suitable for any rider that knows how to W-T-C. Along with his riding abilities, Hagrid is a hoot to be around. He has the best PERSONALITY. You can literally catch him anywhere, and loves interacting with people. Hagrid stands for farrier/vet work, hauls well and stalls/pastures with other horses. He is up to date on farrier/dental/vet work. He is sound and ready to go do whatever it is that you may want to do. We have tried to capture all his abilities in this video. Text for more information.
