He is top of the line Western Pleasure bred and it shows. Goes back to Potential Investment and Zippo Pine Bar. HIs fluid movement, absolutely natural cadence and super smooth transitions makes for a joy to ride. On the ground, he has all his manners - leads nicely, trailers, ties, bathes, lunges, ponies, hobbles, ground ties and is good for the farrier. Under saddle, he cues up to the mounting block or fence to step on or he will stand quietly to step on from the ground. Gauge has a nice slow jog and super smooth lope. Stops and backs up correct. Really wants to be soft in the face and barrel. Gauge has been a fun addition to our program. He puts a lot of heart and effort into everything you ask of him and really takes in new knowledge well. We’ve taken him on 10-15 mile trail rides and he does well alone or with others. He’s been exposed to elk, deer, rabbits and all the surprises that come from riding out with wildlife. He crosses bridges, downfall, and water. If you ever find yourself showing Gauge something new, you’ll appreciate his willingness to allow you to talk him through it. He’s also been exposed to a rope, he’s drug a log, crossed tarps and has helped gather cattle for the neighbors. Any direction that you want to go with this nice gelding he will be sure to please! At this stage of his training he needs someone to stay consistent with him, but he’s ready to be the newest addition of your family! Barefoot. Trimmed regularly. Dental up to date.
